Island Weddings

Oh, I've always dreamed about having an Island wedding. Well, since it is difficult times, we decided to do it locally so that our friends and family can all share our special day. We, well I, want us to renew our vows one day on one of our anniversaries on an Island. Just the two of us. It will be so special.

The aftermath

Is it always like this? All the hype of planning the wedding, having the wonderful amazing day and then... then what? What happens now? Please note, that we've known each other for just over than 11 years. Living together for just under 11 years. Have a daughter together.

Surely things should feel different, it did for about a month. Now it just feels the same it always have. Wonder if this is the reason I'm feeling so down lately. All the excitement of planning the wedding and the wedding itself and now it's all over. Mmmmm...

The day after our wedding

I booked us into Riverview Spa for the day.
Such a lovely place.

We couldn't afford to go on honeymoon, or rather, we couldn't leave Kendra, our 3 year old daughter, for longer than one night with family. Not cause she'll miss us, but cause we will miss her. I mean, what do you think was the hot topic of the night, our wedding night. Yes, you guessed it, "I hope Kendra is okay" and "Shame, our poor baby really didn't feel well" and "I hope she's not going to keep her Aunt Yolanda up the whole night". Oh the joys.

So we were up bright and early on Saturday morning, 9 May '09. Had a light breakfast, yoghurt and muesli, and packed the cars. Yes, we actually went with two cars, since the groom wasn't suppose to see the bride before the wedding. The spa wasn't to far and we made it just on time. Shame, poor Neil had to drive his car, which was covered in lipstick and toilet paper all by himself. Wonder what people were thinking. Mmm, did the bride dump him on their wedding night? Oops, did they get the wrong car? Who knows.

Well, when we got there, we had breakfast again. Thank goodness we only had the yoghurt and muesli earlier, cause this breakfast was devine. We then went for a jacuzzi for a while. Mmm, that was really, really good. Wanted to stay there the whole day.

Our first treatment for the day was a full body masage. Neil wasn't very impressed that he had to take his clothes of for this one. Well, at least we got to keep our pants on, hahaha. It was amazing though, I almost fell asleep.

Okay, it's been 89 days since this happened, and I still haven't finished it. Now I must try and remember what happened next. Oi. I will have to get the order right after I spoke to my husband.

So lets just start with the picnic. So we went to the spot we went to the last time we were there. They packed the same stuff as last time in the basket. Which was okay. I think at that stage we started feeling little bored. I think I should've booked at a different spa, but thought since it was so nice I'll book there again.

Mmm, don't think now is a good time to continue, feeling a little tired and negative today. Will try again tomorrow.

To be continued...
